About Us

Oscar 1

We founded Fohr Card with the purpose of bringing together two groups of people who share a love for storytelling; creative brands and creative influencers. Our purpose was born from a story of personal friendship between two of us, James Nord and Rich Tong.

James and I met for the first time over lunch one afternoon at Friend of a Farmer in Gramercy Park.

At the time, James was daylighting in sales as an Account Executive, while moonlighting as an amateur fashion photographer (albeit a well-followed one on Tumblr). I was at Tumblr heading up their fashion initiatives, and always being keen on meeting ambitious, talented, creative individuals from the community, I was curious to chat with him.

I don't remember much of what we discussed, but I do remember coming away from our conversation being acutely aware of his problem: he was genuinely passionate about wanting to work with established fashion brands - he just hadn't gotten the opportunity.

As luck would have it just a few days later, OscarPRGirl approached me asking me if I knew anyone from the Tumblr community who would be good to shoot their event on FNO. I instantly thought of James and introduced them.

As Rich said above I was working in marketing and trying to hustle my way into a gig in fashion. I used to do this thing where I cold emailed CEO's of major fashion brands, asking to work with them. It never worked.

I really respected what Rich was doing at Tumblr and wanted  to be a part of it. I didn't end up doing Tumblr Fashion Week, but that one email he wrote to Erika at Oscar de la Renta really did change my life.

I became the house photographer for Oscar de la Renta and Thom Browne, had the chance to fly around the world and work with brands like Puma, Stella Artois, J. Lindeberg, Rag & Bone and more.

Fast-forward a year, Rich and I found ourselves catching up over Manhattans in a familiar spot, the Rose Bar in Gramercy. By the second round we knew we had to create a business that could take what Rich did in my life and help thousands of people. We knew there were bloggers and influencers more talented than me who just needed a way to get in front of the right brands.

We share this story because it is the inspiration and foundation for what we do, and why we do it.

We founded Fohr Card with the purpose of bringing together two groups of people who share a love for storytelling; creative brands and creative influencers. Alone, each can create beautiful stories. Together, we believe they can create even greater ones.

Press

Launching at a time when bloggers are perhaps more valuable than ever to brands... the startup has signed on some pretty big names.
While other B2B platforms exist…none have the laser focus on this growing sector of the digital realm.
Brands are using Fohr Card to identify new 'digital influencers' — people with a voice and loyal following.
